• Ted Simmons had a big workload in the 1970s. He played in 150 or more games in seven straight seasons (1972-1979). Although Ted occasionally played some outfield and first base, this workload may have contributed to the dropoff in his hitting stats later in his career. Ted would be a surefire Hall of Famer if the decline phase of his career would have been better.
