- May 16 - Went 2 for 5 with an RBI and scored the winning run as the Red Sox beat the California Angels 8-7 i n11 innings.
- May 22 - Pulled his right hamstring .
- June 1 - Injured his right knee while rounding third base and was placed on the disabled list a couple of days later.
- June 21 - Suffered a slight tear of the medial cartilage in his right knee. He reinjured the knee while chasing a double. Evans would be out for three weeks.
- Aug 14 - Had four RBI and went 2 for 3 with a 3-run homer in Boston's 11-1 win over the Seattle Mariners.
- Aug 25 - Put on the disabled list for the third time. Ended up missing the rest of the season with cartilage damage in his right knee.
- Aug 31 - Underwent surgery to repair the damage in his right knee.
