- Dave Moates had already played in his last major league game when this card was made. Moates started the season with AAA Tucson and hit .349 in 17 games. Dave was sold to the New York Yankees on May 23. The Yankees sent Moates to AAA Syracuse. Dave hit well there, but he was never called up to the majors. Moates retired after the 1977 season.
- After his playing career Dave coached at State College of Florida (SCF), where he had played before transferring to Florida State University. Moates also started the baseball program at Lakewood High School and won a state championship in 2003. Moates was recently inducted into the SCF Hall of Fame and helps as an assistant coach there.
