- Biff Pocoroba was the starting catcher for the 1977 Braves. It was by far Biff's best offensive season. His fielding was slightly above average, but he allowed 103 stolen bases in 100 games behind the plate.

- May 17 - Hit a pinch grand slam with two out in the 9th inning to win the game for the Braves. The Braves beat the Montreal Expos 9-6.
- June 22 - Hit a 2-run home run as the Braves beat the New York Mets 4-1.
- July 4 - Hit a 3-run double off of Tom Seaver in the 8th inning to lead the Braves to a 5-4 win.

Back in the mid-1970s, I thought "If only (Mets' pitcher) Bob Apodaca played for the Braves."
ReplyDeleteAtlanta would have had the most interesting battery since the 66/67 Cubs threw Bob Hendley & Randy Hundley out there.
