- Felix Millan was the starting second baseman for the Mets in 1977 until early May when the Mets acquired Lenny Randle. Felix became the starter again in June when Randle was moved to 3B.
- On August 12 the Braves played the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ed Ott slid hard into second base to break up a double play. Felix tagged Ott hard in the face with the ball. Ott then picked Millan up and body slammed him to the turf. Millan sustained a shoulder injury and never played in the majors again.
- Millan played in Japan from 1978-1980 and he also played in the Mexican League in 1981. Felix batted .346 in 1979 and won the batting title.
