- Andy Hassler did a competent job in the back end of the Kansas City starting rotation. Andy missed a month of the season with a knee injury. He was hit by a line drive off the bat of the Texas Rangers' Ken Henderson on April 26.
- Hassler took the loss in game 2 of the AL Championship Series. Hassler allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings as the Royals lost 6-2.
