Here Comes 1977!!!

  • Now that I'm running out of subject matter for the Project 1976 blog, I'm going to go ahead with 1977.
  • When I acquire the last few cards needed for the 1976 Kelloggs and Hostess sets, I'll post them there.
  • The 1977 Topps set holds a special place in my heart. I was eleven years old and had completed the set in September of 1977. I brought the set to school for show and tell. Unfortunately, the cards got stolen. I was heartbroken. My father ordered a set from the mail (probably from Den's Collector's Den or Larry Fritsch) to replace the lost cards.
  • Most of the blog entries will be devoted to the 1977 Topps set. I will also post about other sets such as the Kellogg's and Hostess sets. I hope you enjoy the journey.

  1. Wait a minute, woah.. 15 cents for a pack in '77? so, it doubles in price in 5 years? You're kidding me. Usually competition keeps pricing lower... how the world did Topps increase their price so much?

Anyway, lookin' forward to this. I've always kinda liked the '77 card style.

  2. What a great dad to get you a replacement set. What a scumbag who stole your original. Love the '77's.
