- The Texas Rangers picked up Ken Henderson in the big Jeff Burroughs trade after the 1976 season. Henderson started most of the games in right field until early May. He missed a few weeks with an injury and then was limited to pinch hitting until mid June. Ken also missed about five weeks from late July to early September.

- March 27 - Had to be restrained by teammates from going after Lenny Randle after Randle decked manager Frank Lucchesi.
- May 3 - Knocked in four runs with a home run and a double as the Rangers hammered the Detroit Tigers 13-0.
- June 24 - Hit a home run in the 10th inning off of Frank Tanana to lead the Rangers to a 1-0 win over the California Angels.

1977 Topps Baseball #241 - Dave Tomlin
- Dave Tomlin had a good year as a set-up man for San Diego closer Rollie Fingers. After the season he was traded (along with $125,000 cash) to the Texas Rangers for Gaylord Perry. Dave never played for the Rangers -- he was sold to the Cincinnati Reds during spring training in 1978.
- 1977 Stats: 4-4, 3 saves, 3.01 ERA in 76 games
- 1977 Highlights:
- May 31 - Pitched two scoreless innings to pick up his first win of the year. The Padres beat the San Francisco Giants 4-2.
- Aug 5 - Won his third game of the year by pitching three scoreless innings as the Padres beat the Chicago Cubs 5-3.

1977 Topps Baseball #221 - Bob Bailey
- Bob Bailey was mainly a pinch hitter for the Reds in 1977. Bailey was placed on waivers and claimed by the Boston Red Sox on September 19. The Reds ended up getting a minor leaguer and cash for Bob.

- May 18 - Drove in three runs in the Reds' 8-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

1977 Topps Baseball #239 - Bill Plummer
- This was Bill Plummer's last season as a member of the Cincinnati Reds. Bill was released by the Reds during spring training in 1978. Plummer played one season (1978) with the Seattle Mariners and played in the minors in 1979 before moving on to coaching and managing.
- 1977 Stats: .137, 1 HR, 7 RBI in 56 games
- 1977 Highlights:
- April 6 - Got the start in the Reds' first game of the season and went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Plummer's run proved to be the winning run in the Reds' 5-3 win over the San Diego Padres
- June 17 - Went 2 for 4 with a run scored as the Reds beat the Montreal Expos 9-4.

1977 Topps Baseball #238 - Tippy Martinez
- Tippy Martinez had a good year as a lefty late-inning reliever for the Orioles in 1977. He got off to a rough start when he allowed three earned runs in 1/3 of an inning on April 19. Tippy walked the only man he faced on April 25, then he didn't pitch again until May 11. Martinez managed to get his ERA down to 2.70 before the season was over.
- Tippy holds the Orioles team record with 298 games finished and is second on the team with 105 saves.
- 1977 Stats: 5-1, 9 saves, 2.70 ERA in 41 games
- 1977 Highlights:
- Aug 3 - Pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless ball and earned the win in Baltimore's 8-6 win over the Oakland A's
- Aug 14 - Pitched 2/3 of an inning without allowing any runs and picked up his 6th save of the season.

1977 Topps Baseball #237 - Gene Clines
- Before the 1977 season Gene Clines was traded to the Chicago Cubs for Darold Knowles and cash. Clines had a good year as a backup outfielder and pinch hitter as the Cubs contended for the NL East championship for most of the season.
- 1977 Stats: .293, 3 HR, 41 RBI in 101 games
- 1977 Highlights:
- May 16 - Went 4 for 4 with 5 RBI as the Cubs beat the San Diego Padres 9-6.
- June 28 - Hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning to knock in the eventual winning run for the Cubs. The Cubs beat the Montreal Expos 4-2.
- Sept 9 - Appeared as a pinch hitter and hit the game-winning home run in Chicago's 10-8 win over the New York Mets.

1977 Topps Baseball #236 - Tom Buskey
- Tom Buskey had a rough year in 1977. He pitched in 20 games before being sent down to AAA Toledo in late July. Buskey was recalled when the rosters expanded in September, but he made only one appearance after his call up.
- 1977 Stats:
- Cleveland Indians: 0-0, 5.29 ERA in 21 games
- Toledo Mud Hens (AAA): 1-3, 4.50 ERA in 10 games (3 starts)

- March 19 - Retired all six batters he faced in an exhibition game against the San Diego Padres.
