- Tippy Martinez had a good year as a lefty late-inning reliever for the Orioles in 1977. He got off to a rough start when he allowed three earned runs in 1/3 of an inning on April 19. Tippy walked the only man he faced on April 25, then he didn't pitch again until May 11. Martinez managed to get his ERA down to 2.70 before the season was over.
