- Dave Tomlin had a good year as a set-up man for San Diego closer Rollie Fingers. After the season he was traded (along with $125,000 cash) to the Texas Rangers for Gaylord Perry. Dave never played for the Rangers -- he was sold to the Cincinnati Reds during spring training in 1978.
