- Bill Greif had already pitched his last major league game by the time this card was produced. The St. Louis Cardinals had traded Bill to the Montreal Expos after the 1976 season.
- Grief was cut by the Montreal Expos during spring training in 1977. He tried to come back in 1978 and pitched for the New York Mets' AAA Tidewater club, but the comeback was short lived (0-1, 6.75 ERA in three games).
