- Fran Healy didn't play very much for the Yankees in 1977, but he got a lot of credit for being a peacemaker in the tumultuous Yankee locker room. Healy (along with Reggie Jackson, Thurman Munson, and Lou Piniella) apparently interceded in manager Billy Martin's behalf and kept him from being fired during the 1977 season.
- In May of 1978 Healy requested and was granted a release. He said that he couldn't perform up to his capabilities due to a neck injury. Healy became a broadcaster after his retirement. He struck out in his only at bat in '78.
- 1977 Stats: .224 in 27 games (he wasn't used in the playoffs)
- 1977 Highlights:
- June 9 - Hit a 2-run single to help the Yankees beat the Milwaukee Brewers 10-1.
- Other card blogs: 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976
