- Joe Rudi was finally able to leave the Oakland A's after the 1976 season. His first season in California wasn't what he hoped for as a broken thumb suffered on June 26 finished his season. Joe was off to a great start -- his .496 slugging percentage was the best of his career.

- June 14 - Homered twice and knocked in five runs to help the Angels beat the Minnesota Twins 12-9.
- June 17 - Went 4 for 5 and scored the eventual winning run in the 10th inning as the Angels beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-5
