- Will McEnaney didn't pitch for the Reds in 1977. He and Tony Perez were traded to the Montreal Expos after the 1976 season for Dale Murray and Woodie Fryman. Cincinnati reliever Rawly Eastwick labeled the trade as "stupidity."
- I still haven't forgiven the Reds for that trade. That trade and the departure of Pete Rose after the 1978 season were what caused me to permanently switch my allegiance to the San Francisco Giants.
- 1977 Stats: 3-5, 3 saves, 3.95 ERA in 69 games
- 1977 Highlights:
- June 26 - Pitched three shutout innings and got the win as the Expos beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-3.
- Aug 23 - Pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief against his former teammates to hold the lead for starter Steve Rogers. The Expos beat the Reds 4-2.

Definitely a bad trade! It was the beginning of the dismantling of the Big Red Machine, culminating in the firing of Sparky after the '78 season. I'm still a Reds fan, but I'm convinced we'll never see the likes of the Big Red Machine again.
