- Max Leon was in the starting rotation for the Atlanta Braves from early May until mid June. Leon spent the rest of the 1977 season coming out of the bullpen.

- Richmond (AAA) - didn't pitch for the club, but was on the roster
- 1977 Highlights:
- April 24 - Recalled by Atlanta from AAA Richmond. Leon replaced disgruntled pitcher Mike Marshall.
- May 12 - Drove in three runs and allowed one run on three hits in seven innings as the Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-1. This was the game in which Braves owner Ted Turner was told that he was ineligible to manage the club. The Braves went without a manager in the game - coach Vern Benson handled the strategy. The game also snapped a 17-game losing streak by the Braves.
- June 14 - Allowed three runs in five innings, but the Braves beat the New York Mets 8-5. Leon earned the win in his last start of the season.
- Aug 6 - Arrested on drunk driving charges. Leon also hurt his knee while trying to get away from the police. Max was placed on the disqualified list and didn't pitch again until September 6.
