- Cecil Cooper was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for George Scott and Bernie Carbo on 6 December 1976. Cooper would be with the Brewers until the end of his career in 1987.

- Nov 16 - Was very happy when the Brewers signed Larry Hisle as a free agent. Cooper and teammate Sal Bando helped persuade Hisle to sign with Milwaukee.
