- Tom Paciorek was used as a pinch hitter for most of April 1977. He was the Braves' starting first baseman for most of May while Willie Montanez was out with a pulled groin muscle. Tom returned to his pinch hitting role in June.

- May 6: Went 4 for 4 with a double and a home run, but it wasn't enough as the Braves lost 7-2. It was Atlanta's 12th straight loss. The Braves ended up losing 17 in a row.
- June 3: Had a pinch-hit sacrifice fly in the 9th inning to win the game for the Braves over the San Francisco Giants. The final score was 8-7
- June 19: Broke up a no-hit bid by Philadelphia's Steve Carlton by hitting a pinch single in the 6th inning.
