- Grant Jackson is airbrushed into kind of a neutral uniform. It's probably a good thing -- Jackson never pitched for the Mariners. Grant was taken by Seattle in the expansion draft after the 1976 season, but he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for infielders Craig Reynolds and Jimmy Sexton before the 1977 season.
- 1977 Stats:
- 5-3, 3.86 ERA, 4 saves, 49 games (2 starts)
- 1977 Highlights:
- May 7: Doubled home two runs in Pittsburgh's 12-10 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
- June 28: Was called on to start the second game of a doubleheader and allowed ten runs in six innings. Jackson would have pitched longer (the Pirates had some injuries and were short of pitchers at the time), but he had a leg cramp that forced him out of the game in the 7th inning. Shortstop Mario Mendoza ended up finishing the game, which Pittsburgh lost 13-3.
- Aug 2: Pitched three scoreless innings and earned the win as the Pirates beat the Houston Astros 6-3.
