- May 14 - Made two running catches to preserve Jim Colborn's no-hitter. The Royals beat the Texas Rangers 6-0.
- July 21 - Went 4 for 5 with 5 RBI in Kansas City's 8-1 win over the Detroit Tigers.
- Sept 25 - Went 2 for 3 with one RBI and one run as the Royals beat the California Angels 6-3 in game 1 of a doubleheader. Knocked in two runs with a pinch triple in game 2 of the doubleheader. The Royals swept the doubleheader and clinched the AL West title.
- Oct 5 - Homered and went 3 for 4 as the Royals took game 1 of the ALCS. He also robbed Mickey Rivers of a home run.
